Prosecutors
Prosecutors appear before all courts in the Northern Territory and the High Court of Australia in criminal matters ranging from minor to complex prosecutions, appeals and other related matters. Prosecutors represent the Director of Public Prosecutions in summary and crown matters. All Prosecutors must be admitted or be eligible for admission, as a barrister or solicitor of the High Court or Supreme Court of a state or territory of Australia.
Witness Assistance Service
Witness Assistance Service officers work directly with victims, witnesses and their families throughout their involvement with the criminal justice process. We believe that in all prosecutions, victims of crime should be treated with courtesy, respect and dignity, and have access to the relevant information about the case. These rights are set out in the Director of Public Prosecutions Guidelines for Prosecutors and in the NT Charter for Victims of Crime.
Legal Administrative Support
Legal Administrative Support employees provide high level support to Prosecutors. Positions are available for Summary and Crown Prosecutions and involve managing all material received from Police, NT WorkSafe and the Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.
